Persona 3 Reload Tier List: Best Party Members Ranked
Persona 3 Reload takes you right back to Gekkoukan High School from the classic Persona 3 (2006) game. As you step into the shoes of the Protagonist, you'll return to Gekkoukan High School and join the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S.) to face the mysterious Dark Hour and its menacing Shadows.
With so many party members to choose from, determining the best team setup can be challenging, which is where our Persona 3 Reload tier list comes in.
Persona 3 Reload Party Member Tier List
This Persona 3 Reload tier list ranks every party member based on their flexibility in combat and consistency. We’ll also give you some tips to build the strongest, most balanced squad for your journey.
To start, here’s how we sum up our Persona 3 tier list:
- S-Tier: Protagonist (Makoto Yuki), Mitsuru Kirijo, and Aigis
- A-Tier: Akihiko Sanada, Yukari Takeba, and Shinjiro Aragaki
- B-Tier: Fuuka Yamagishi, Junpei Iori, and Koromaru
- C-Tier: Ken Amada
Overall, we don’t have anyone in the party falling into the F-tier, as each member has their benefits when playing them. However, some of the players are more versatile than others, making it easier to create a winning team when you add them in.
Here’s a more in-depth explanation behind our Persona 3 Reload party member tier list:
S-Tier: Essential Party Members
The S-tier on our Persona 3 Reload tier list represents the strongest party members who excel in nearly every situation, offering unmatched versatility or critical support skills that can carry your team through the toughest floors and bosses.
Here’s who you should look at if you’re looking for a lineup that consistently performs at the highest level:
- Protagonist (Makoto Yuki): As the leader and most versatile character, the Protagonist is naturally S-tier. You can freely switch between Personas like Orpheus and Thanatos, giving you unmatched flexibility. Building a strong team really starts here, as his balance of offense and support is unmatched.
- Mitsuru Kirijo: Mitsuru is a powerhouse in terms of ice magic and support. With access to potent spells and great healing abilities, she’s perfect for consistent damage and recovery, making her valuable for late-game boss fights.
- Aigis: As an anti-Shadow android, Aigis is an incredible tank and offensive threat. She brings Orgia Mode for burst damage and impressive physical skills that help against enemies resistant to magic. Rely on her when you need someone to absorb damage and counter with heavy hits.
A-Tier: Strong Core Members
The A-tier on our Persona 3 tier list includes powerful members who might not quite reach the S-tier, but are still reliable choices. They shine when paired with S-tier teammates or when you need flexible options for different strategies and enemy weaknesses.
If you need to fill one more spot in your party, think about adding:
- Akihiko Sanada: Akihiko is a balanced fighter with great physical moves and lightning (Zio) spells. His combination of offensive buffs like Tarukaja and strong single-target attacks makes him essential in mid- to late-game encounters, and he can buff your team to help chip away at bosses.
- Yukari Takeba: Yukari is your best dedicated healer. With access to strong wind magic and vital healing spells like Mediarahan, she keeps the team alive during long dungeon runs. Her physical defense is lower, but her utility and healing more than make up for it.
- Shinjiro Aragaki: Shinjiro is all about pure strength, as his raw physical attacks deal massive damage to finish battles quickly. The tradeoff is that he lacks versatility and has limited availability in the story. Still, when he's part of the party, he's a wrecking ball.
B-Tier: Reliable Situational Picks
B-tier members on HYTE’s Persona 3 Reload party member tier list may not dominate every fight. However, they still bring valuable skills to the table by filling in specific roles or rounding out your party when you need certain elements or playstyles. They shine in the right circumstances and are great if you enjoy experimenting with different combinations rather than sticking to a single optimal lineup.
If you want to shake things up in your Persona 3 Reload party, take a look at:
- Fuuka Yamagishi: Fuuka doesn't fight directly, but her support skills, like enemy scanning and buffs, make her valuable for strategy. Turn to her when you need a deeper analysis of enemies or long-term support.
- Junpei Iori: Junpei brings solid physical damage and fire skills early on, making him great for early Tartarus exploration and a dependable all-rounder for the first half of the game. However, he falls off a bit later as other party members gain stronger moves and more balanced kits.
- Koromaru: This loyal Shiba Inu wields Dark magic and can dodge physical attacks well, all while looking adorable. He is surprisingly strong, but his lack of diverse skill options and limited healing capabilities mean he’s better for fun runs than critical boss fights.
C-Tier: Niche but Fun Choices
The C-tier on our Persona 3 Reload tier list only has one person on it, although they're a fun addition to any team, especially in specific battles. Overall, though, they are not super consistent. They require more effort to fit into an optimized team or may lack the necessary versatility for tackling challenging late-game content.
Still, if you enjoy creative or unconventional team setups, they can bring a unique flavor to your runs:
- Ken Amada: Ken mixes light-based magic with spear attacks, which can be handy against certain enemies. However, his lower overall damage and lack of standout abilities make him less essential compared to others.
Building the Perfect Persona 3 Reload Team
The real key to success in Persona 3 Reload is creating a team that feels unstoppable, no matter what Tartarus or the story bosses throw at you.
Having a great team means:
- Balancing Your Roles: Make sure your group covers three essentials: damage dealers (both physical and elemental), a reliable healer/support for buffs and debuffs, and a utility character to analyze weaknesses or provide flexible assistance.
- Covering Multiple Elements: Spread out elemental strengths so no boss can block your strategy. If one member specializes in fire, for example, build your Protagonist's Personas to cover ice, electricity, or wind.
- Planning for the Long Haul: Tartarus can quickly drain SP. Bring a member with efficient healing or SP management skills, and keep items on hand to sustain the team during deep dungeon dives.
- Thinking About Turn Economy: Extra turns from hitting weaknesses can completely swing a fight. Choose members who can consistently land those hits and give your Protagonist Personas that complement the party's coverage.
- Staying Flexible: Don't lock your party forever. As new characters join and learn better skills, adjust your lineup to remain versatile and ready for any challenge.
By focusing on how well the team works together instead of individual stars, you'll always have an answer for whatever the Dark Hour brings.
